Can you believe it’s finally spring? It felt like winter would never leave.

As much as I love my spooky mystery thrillers and paranormal romance books to cuddle with all winter. I just KNOW this will be a welcome change of pace to get out of that reading slump and find excitement in light-hearted stories and carefree settings. Don’t you think?
I chose this set of books not necessarily because it’s set in spring; the beautiful, light, and flowery covers evoke a spring feeling. Lemon pies and magic attics evoke a sense of new beginnings and motivation. I definitely got the good recs coming just for you love! Let’s get into some of my past reads that just gave me all the feels of spring.
The Seven-Year Slip by Ashley Poston

Now I know this book is set in New York City, where the main characters were probably freezing. None of that matters, because we literally only care about the famous lemon pie he made for Clementine. Helllo! If you didn’t know, lemon pie is a great dessert to try in the spring, giving its citrusy and refreshing taste. It’s actually one of my favorite desserts to have. You should try it and tell me what you think.
Back to the story. Book publicist, Clementine, thinks she has her life and career perfectly planned, but unexpected, twisty events in her new apartment upend everything. Her dear aunt that she adores handed this apartment down to her, and when the place shows her true magic by some weirdo stranger being in her apartment from seven years of her past, she does what any sane human would do. That’s right, scream and tell him to get the heck out! You get to find out her history with the handsome southern stranger and why this apartment brought them together.

Just a little more magic to go! How would you feel if you came home one night from being out single as a Pringle to your home where your husband greets you that you never met before? That’s exactly the predicament that Lauren is facing. At first she thinks she is just drunk because no way! But when she wakes up the next morning, that husband is still there. She unintentionally creates a lot of new problems for herself by being picky. Every time her husband goes in the attic, a new one comes out. Not only that, but with each new husband, her life and home also change.
While this story has its quirky elements, it’s also very serious because you have to take a glimpse at yourself and how being with one person can drastically shape your life and others around you.
All I’ve Wanted All I’ve needed by A. E. Valdez

The Cover is gorgeous and the only reason I picked this book lol. So Not True. Just look at the sunflowers, come on now, you see the vibes.
Just know that Harlow usually plays it safe but takes a leap of faith and moves from everything she knows to Seattle to take a new job and a fresh start.
When she and Acyn meet, it’s giving enemies to lovers, I think….Maybe friends to lovverrrs..hmm not sure either you will just have to read it to find out I guess. He was definitely giving off some mean boy vibes when he took a dig at her coffee making skills.
Btw I love that his nickname for her is sunshine.
Did I mention they end up getting matching tattoos? That’s got to be that heartfelt dizzy type of love!
Mom Jeans and Other Mistakes by Alexa Martin

Wow, just freaking WOW! When I picked up this audiobook, I was expecting it to be more so cheesy. I was so wrong. The friendship and story between Jude and Lauren was so beautiful to watch unfold and blossom within themselves and each other.
Jude is Instagram famous and a Pilates instructor who is carefree and just going through life, living on the edge, not taking life too seriously. Underneath her carefree persona, she does have her own struggles with her mom and the guy who ran away with all her money. Talk about a setback!
Lauren, on the other hand, is very well put together and tries to do everything by the book. The one thing she didn’t do according to plan was fall in love and get pregnant and have to throw her dreams of being a surgeon away. On top of that, love didn’t last long enough and now she is all on her own raising her daughter.
The two decide to finally live together like they always should have, and now you get to see what living with your best friend is really like.
Ties That Tether by Jane Igharo

This vibrant onset of colors on this cover knows what it’s doing to me. This is a heartwarming story about identity, rebirth, growing, and love that defines all odds!
Azere is a Nigerian Canadian people pleaser, especially for her mom. In Nigerian culture, you learn how strict parents can be. She has already promised her dying father that she will marry a Nigerian man when the time comes. Not only that, now her mom is pressuring her to basically play 50 first dates as she lines up different men to date her daughter, even though that’s the furthest thing from Azere’s mind.
She meets a guy randomly after one of her wreck of a dates and ends up having a one night stand! Not only is this man not of Nigerian culture, but hey, it’s just a one night stand right? WRONG! This man now works at her office and she has to see him every day now. That still isn’t all because another bombshell is coming, but you will have to read to know what happened next.
All of this leaves her on the road of a guilty conscience and trying to fight her feelings for the man she can’t choose. This tug of war with her heart and the love for her mother will be a hard battle. She also doesn’t want to lose her culture, or herself. She doesn’t know how to handle being so many different things. When she simply just wants to be HER.

I hope you enjoy at least one of these books as much as I did. Each book here gives you hope, laughter, flowers, warmth, renewal, and a vibrant springtide. Here are some more suggestions, The Love Lines Series is full of banter, lighthearted fun, and love. I promise you will be laughing with them.
Until next time readers. XOXO
